In Thailand, there are a whole series of holidays we are interested
once listed. Even in these days are like here except on land except a
few shops and institutions closed.
The most important holidays in Thailand:
- 1st January: New Year Festival
- 21st February:-Makha Bucha Day (Buddhist state holiday)
- 6th April: Chakri Day (founding of the Chakri Dynasty in the year 1782)
- 13th - 15 April: Songkran (Thai New Year Festival)
- 16th April: replacement holiday for Songkran Day (Sunday)
1st
- May: Labor Day
- 5th May: Coronation Day of King Bhumibol Adulyadej
- 9th May: royal plowing ceremony on the square Sanam Luang in Bangkok (only authorities closed)
- 19th May:-Visaka Bucha Day; holiest of all Buddhist holidays
- 17th July: Asanha-Bucha Day, only religious holiday
- 18th July: Buddhist Lent or Khao Pansa (Buddhist state holiday, the start of Lent)
- 12th August: birthday of Queen Sirikit
- 14th October: Ok Phansa (end of Buddhist Lent), only religious holiday
- 23rd October: Chulalongkorn Day (death of King Chulalongkorn, Rama V)
- 5th December: Birthday of King Bhumibol Adulyadej
- 10th December: Constitution Day
- 31st December: New Year's Eve
Other festivals, as neither the government nor as Buddhist holidays are:
- 7th February: Chinese New Year (celebrated on February 5-7)
- 12th January: Children's Day
- 16th January: Teachers Day
- 14th February: Valentine's Day
